Our last weekend of Spring Break...we decided to take advantage of the gorgeous weather and drive out to Diamond Head for some exploring!
Mitch checked the tides, and decided that low tide was late enough in the morning that we could venture out to search for some sea life!

We went with the girls' friend, Adia, and her Mom and brother and packed a small lunch and drove out to Waikiki. Along Diamond Head drive is a small beach at the end of a very exclusive private drive to the ocean. Here, when the tide is low enough, you can walk around and explore all the fish, hermit crabs, and sea cucumbers that have gotten themselves trapped in the grooves and crevices of the reef. It's beautiful!

Of course...it takes some skill to actually catch some of those sea life...
The girls spent most of the afternoon gathering pretty rocks.
Although, they did manage to catch several hermit crabs, too!
Alas...no fish, though.

When Jolee finally woke up from her nap in the car (with Mitch standing watch, of course!) all she wanted to do was play in the sand.
Who cares about hermit crabs and rocks when there's an entire beach of sand to play in, right?

This is where we were...
What would it be like to have this in YOUR back yard?
(Except when we had that tsunami warning last month. Then, I imagine, it would kinda suck...)

...come Monday, it's back to the daily grind...
