My girls don't like taking naps. But they usually do, because if they don't, they get really cranky and fall asleep waaaay too early. As in, before dinner early.
Yesterday, this happened and they woke up at 8 pm (cranky) and stayed up till close to midnight. Mitch was not a happy camper.
So, today after church, it was time for their nap and they both said that they didn't want to. (no surprise there) We told them that they'd be too tired later and won't get to enjoy dinner if they didn't!
They still played, and refused to nap.
Fast forward to 6 pm...and they're super tired. And cranky (of course). As is Mitch. So, how does he teach this most valuable lesson?
He tells them that just like Jeff Wiggle is always tired and falling asleep...when they don't take naps, they will be too tired and may end up falling asleep during dinner and won't get to enjoy their evening!
Well said, Mitch. Well said.
Well said, Mitch. Well said.

I like that he picked an example that was on their level. Lad cannot comprehend "their level" or would even think that he would have to explain things in a way that they can understand or identify with. Good job Mitch!
