beach & first foods

After the cold, cold weather of Seattle, we were itching to head out and bask in the heat of Hawaii...
SO, to the beach we went!

We still didn't put Kaden in the water yet...

I know, I know, it's about time.
We're working up to it, I promise.

We met up with a few cousins...

Made a huge sand pit...

Did some practice standing...

And generally enjoyed every minute of it.
It was a HOT day!

And then...as Kaden is such a BIG 5 1/2 month old boy, we decided to start feeding him some solid foods.

Here he is eating some rice cereal mixed with Okinawan purple potato.
He likes it!

Though really...is it really so surprising that he enjoys eating?
I didn't think so.
